If you hear 'Senior Project Manager' and immediately picture colour-coded spreadsheets and someone saying “let’s park that”, I won’t pretend those moments never happen. But at Advancing Analytics, the job is much more about creating calm in the chaos, building trust with clients, and making sure good work lands well.
At a simple level, as a Senior PM here, I own project delivery end-to-end. That means shaping how my clients experience a project from the first proper kick-off through to the final handover, making sure outcomes are clear, risk is managed early, and delivery feels predictable (in a good way).
Advancing Analytics is in the business of turning complexity into clarity, and that mindset shows up in delivery as much as it does in the tech.
Owning delivery, not just “managing a plan”
A Senior Project Manager at Advancing isn’t there to simply track tasks and chase updates. The role is to lead delivery properly: bringing structure, setting direction, and keeping momentum even when things get complicated. I'm accountable for the core project basics like scope, timeline, budget, and quality, but also for how the project feels to the people involved.
In practice, that looks like:
· making priorities and decisions clear when there’s a lot going on
· spotting risks early and dealing with them before they become blockers
· keeping delivery steady, even when the work is technically complex or the client environment is busy
It’s the sort of role that suits someone who likes responsibility, enjoys working with smart people, and gets a strange satisfaction from bringing order to messy situations.
Being a trusted partner to clients (not just “the delivery person”)
One of the biggest aspects to this role is how closely I partner with clients. It’s my job to build strong relationships, manage expectations honestly, and read the room early. When a client is uneasy, I can't wait for it to become a problem. I surface it, talk about it, and fix what needs fixing.
At Advancing, that client partnership also stretches beyond the current project. Senior PMs work closely with growth and engineering leadership to identify what’s next, shape the wider account approach, and help set clients up for long-term success. Good delivery earns trust, and trust often leads to more work together.
Improving how we deliver, company-wide
Senior PMs don’t just deliver projects. We help improve the way Advancing delivers across the board.
That includes working with teams across the company - operations, growth, and leadership - on things like smoother sales-to-delivery handovers, weekly resourcing conversations, and raising delivery standards consistently across accounts.
There’s also an emphasis on making project health visible and useful. One of the things I do is to run forums and share meaningful insights with senior stakeholders so that decisions are made with clarity, not guesswork.
Helping build the Project Management practice
Another big part of my role is leaving things better than I found them.
Senior PMs contribute to the way we do project management at Advancing: defining methodology, creating reusable assets, running training, and sharing best practice so that delivery keeps improving as we grow. Mentoring is a key part of it too, supporting new and existing PMs to build confidence and capability.

Stepping beyond delivery when it matters
Delivery is the core, but I often step into broader responsibilities when needed.
That might include supporting programme leadership, helping shape solution roadmaps, contributing to proposals, supporting statements of work, or coaching clients on new ways of working. Internally, I also play a key role in alignment across stakeholders, making sure issues are spotted early and handled properly.
